When we talk about Guanyin Bodhisattva, we often associate her with terms such as warmth, compassion, wisdom, hope, and infinite sense of peace. Like a loving mother, Guanyin Bodhisattva vows to respond to all requests, giving people hope and reliance.
Guanyin Bodhisattva is sympathetic to all living beings and hears the cries of the suffering. She offers compassionate assistance to those who sincerely chant her name and pray to her. Therefore, when facing any insurmountable obstacles in life or troubles that cannot be solved, one can pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva with sincerity and she will help them achieve their goals, overcome difficulties, and eliminate all disasters so that they stay safe.
The following are personal experiences of those who witnessed miracles after sincerely praying to Guanyin Bodhisattva during critical moments in their lives.
Good Academic Result & Finding a Good Job
1. From Failing to Passing with Flying Colors

In 2019, I was facing the Cambridge O-Level Examination, a very important exam in Singapore secondary schools. At the beginning of the new school year, my teachers gave a lot of homework, and I also had to stay at school after lesson hours for revisions, which brought pressure and anxiety. From the first semester, the results of all my tests were quite bad, with scores on the verge of passing, including English which I usually passed with flying colors.
At that time, I was seriously under stress. In March, my mom shared a video with me, in which Grandmaster JinBodhi taught children how to develop wisdom and improve concentration. My mom showed me how to do the prostrations and because I was desperately seeking ways to improve my focus, I thought, “Why not?”
From that day on, the prostrations became a part of my life. Every night before bed, I would do 36 prostrations while facing a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva while listening to Grandmaster JinBodhi chanting Guanyin Bodhisattva’s name. I would pray to the Guanyin Bodhisattva and Grandmaster JinBodhi to make me smart enough to get good results in my Cambridge O-Level Exam.
I started doing the prostrations and praying to Guanyin Bodhisattva in March, and that helped me achieve a big leap in my grades during the September mock exam, which gave me more confidence and courage to strive for better results. In January 2020, the results of the Cambridge O-Level Exam were announced, and the teachers joked with me that they were surprised to see how much I had improved when they received my scorecard. To ensure that what they saw was true, they checked my scorecard several times. Before this, seven subjects were on the verge of failing, but I managed to get three As and four Bs in this exam. I was so happy that I burst into tears!
2. Finding a Good Job

Once, in a Guanyin Bodhisattva chanting class, Grandmaster JinBodhi asked us to write down our wishes and sincerely chant to Guanyin Bodhisattva to have them fulfilled. Because my son was unable to find a job in the past two years due to the pandemic, I prayed to Guanyin Bodhisattva to help him find a good job.
On the fourth day of the chanting class, a miracle happened. My son called me to share the good news that he had found a job, and at the same time, two companies invited him for interviews. Now my son has a stable job with a good income, and I am grateful for the blessings and protection of the compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva.
A Successful Operation, A Fire Averted, & A Car Crash
3. A Successful Operation

In July, two years ago, I was waiting for surgery to remove a tumor in my lungs. A few days before the surgery, I was very nervous, so I chanted the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva and prayed for a successful operation. I was still chanting at the moment I was pushed into the operating room and as anesthesia was administered.
When I woke up, the doctor told me that the surgery was very successful. I felt like I had just slept for a while, and the surgical incision didn’t hurt at all. Even the doctor was surprised and joked with me, “You don’t look like a patient at all. You look more energetic than me. We can have you discharged tomorrow.”
I’m so grateful for the blessings and protection of Guanyin Bodhisattva. It’s truly a miracle. If I hadn’t experienced it personally, I wouldn’t have believed it. The merits gained from chanting the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva are truly unbelievable.

A few days ago, I was doing the usual; made breakfast, saw the children off, and left for work. Before leaving, I prostrated before the Four-Armed Guanyin Thangka hanging beside the door and reminded my husband to make his own lunch.
At noon, my husband cooked his own lunch. While simmering the food, he left the kitchen and went to his room to play on the computer. About half an hour later, he suddenly heard a noise coming from the pot on the stove. He remembered that the food was still cooking, so he rushed into the kitchen to turn off the heat and prevent a terrible fire from happening.
When I received my husband’s phone call, I hurried back home to check things out. I was shocked to see the whole kitchen was blackened, and the pot and lid had turned into a lump of charcoal. If a fire had started, it would have ended in a disaster. Because the stove’s gas line was connected to the entire building, if anything had happened, it could have affected everyone in the building. Later, my husband talked about the incident and said the sound he heard didn’t make sense. Since there wasn’t even a drop of water in the pot, how could the lid bounce and make such loud noise?
I knew it must have been Guanyin Bodhisattva’s blessing, so I quickly grabbed my husband and had him pay his respects to the Four-Armed Guanyin Thangka and express gratitude for saving our lives. After calming down, we heard the Six-Syllable Mantra chanted by Grandmaster JinBodhi playing continuously in the living room. At that moment, my faith in the Buddha and Bodhisattva, as well as Grandmaster JinBodhi, became even stronger.
6. Surviving a Car Crash

My eldest brother passed away over a year ago. One night, he suddenly appeared in my sister-in-law’s dream, asking me to pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva. My sister-in-law then called me to talk about it. My brother and I had been close since childhood, but he had never appeared in my dreams since his passing. His appearance in my sister-in-law’s dream meant something serious was going to happen, so I brought flowers and fruit to a temple and offered them to Guanyin Bodhisattva to pray for peace.
A few months later, I had a serious car accident on my way home from work. The front of the car was smashed and beyond repair, but the insurance company compensated me with a new car. However, miraculously, I was unharmed and only suffered a bit of shock. I knew it was Guanyin Bodhisattva who had saved me, so I returned to the temple with more flowers and fruit to thank Guanyin Bodhisattva for saving my life! Thanks to my brother’s reminder, all of this is truly incredible.
