Saturday Online Global Group Practice (10 December 2016)

[ The Key to Buddhist Practice]

Life is a constant process of balancing the feelings between “pain” and “happiness”.

What makes a person feel extreme suffering?
Sakyamuni Buddha said: “The present feeling experienced by one is caused by one’s own past actions.”

Take a simple example: A person with mouth ulcers and pimples is a result of eating too much fried food or living an irregular lifestyle. Through understanding the law of cause and effect, it is easy to find a solution to the underlying problem. We can relieve the body heatiness by drinking more water or changing our lifestyle.

Similarly, this is true for wealth and good luck. Poverty, suffering and worries are due to insufficient accumulation of merits. What can we do? We can harvest through good deeds. A poverty-stricken person who choose to make demands or do harm to others will suffer more and become poorer.

How can we comprehend the law of cause and effect and learn to buildup our merits?
This Saturday, let us accumulate merits through the dharma learning of [ The Key to Buddhist Practice ].
