Are you confused or lost? Do you feel that you can’t find a way out of your life situation? You need to change, but don’t have a direction, motivation or confidence. Young friends, if you are experiencing any of these thoughts, click on this video. After listening to Grandmaster JinBodhi’s teachings and the sharing from BMYC’s students, you will probably find the solution.

I am addicted to playing games, but I don’t like my being this way either.

I can spend a whole day playing on my cell phone in bed, ignoring my studies. I want to change, but have no motivation.

I just started working. I have no direction, and no motivation at work. I feel lost. I don’t know what the future holds.

In life, everyone is looking for a way out. Young people, they are looking for a direction in life, and trying to set life goals. Many are confused and lost. Where is my future?

Walking Towards a Wonderful Life

They came to the same place, Bodhi Meditation Youth Camp, a course tailored for young people.

I want to ask those who are here for the first time, what do you come for?

I want to improve my concentration.

I usually worry too much, and I over-think a lot of things.

I want to be a leader, but I am always a follower, always following others.

You want to be a leader. (Yes.) But you are always led by others. (Yes. It is my character, to always follow others.) Your character is to follow others. (But I want to become a leader.) You want to change. (Yes.) Change from soldier to general. (Yes.) I think it is not ambition, but an ideal. Very good.

I think this camp is different from others. It is very special. It has Energy Bagua and visualization practice. It lets us seriously understand ourselves, know ourselves more.

My problem is that I always over-think things. I always think too much. Like, for example, my internship, I couldn’t get internship, I was so stressed, and I couldn’t find any other methods because my head was in a big pile and couldn’t move. So after coming here, and practicing Energy Bagua every morning, when I was staring at the tree, I realized that the tree is like the root, the leaves go out, right? I keep imagining that the leaves are different ways to solve problems. I had the time to think and decide for myself which one was the best.

The Meditation of Awakening Wisdom was pretty difficult for me, because I didn’t have an option. It was very hard for me to hold my arms up. Sometimes I felt like putting down. Even when practicing Energy Bagua, I felt like putting down. I told myself, “No, you can’t do this. Hold them up there. You just have 4 more rounds to go, and then you can put them down. Just continue on and continue on, and you will see light at the end.” So I did it. Yes. I am very happy. I find that my wisdom has finally opened.

I feel like I have closed myself off from the world, when I was about 15-16, I forgot how to imagine. I forgot to think that the Universe is actually a really big place. Then I came back here, I did the meditation. I got to realize and re-imagine again. I was really, really happy that I get to re-imagine about the Universe, about Nature. And it really opened up my mind to so many things.

I have the things you wrote here with me. Wang Kangxi. Who is Kangxi? Welcome Kangxi. Because Kangxi is an emperor of the Qing Dynasty.

We were told to write down our goals. I wrote a few. Grandmaster told us not to be arrogant. I don’t want to be arrogant either. I will try to get rid of my arrogance, and become less arrogant.

Kangxi, you are quite mature to write this. The only thing that you actually worry about is your age. You are still young, and you expect a beautiful future. But you are not sure if that future will be yours, or what will happen after you graduate, right? This kind of worry is normal. You worry about your future, so you are not confident. This is normal.

I want to ask everyone, is it better to be confident or unconfident? If you think confidence is better, please raise your hand. Ok. Put them down. If you think less confidence is also good, please raise your hand. I will raise my hand. I can only speak from my perspective. My experience is, because I am not confident, so I worked very hard. You are arrogant because you are confident. As a result, you don’t do your homework, or practice your singing and dancing like you are supposed to. Learning is the same.

For example, say you are good at math. You don’t have to review your lessons much. Your score may be just slightly better in your grade, or in your class. Have you ever participated in a national math competition? You will find you are not even eligible for that. You won’t be arrogant if you know there are others better than you. You are confident because you have never seen the larger world.

Grandmaster is really guiding us towards the right path. He connected arrogance to wisdom. He mentioned the future a lot. He helped me understand the importance of knowledge. The more you know, the higher chance you have to succeed in the future.

Life is like a war. You rush through the first blockade and many enemies, and win the battle after a grueling fight. Just as you stand at the mountain top wanting to yell out, “Look, I am the hero.” Before you can even lift your hand, you are shot and killed. So arrogance results from ignorance. Those who lack confidence, I think it is a blessing. If you are not confident, then please work harder.

I feel more motivated now. After listening to Grandmaster, I realized I can’t waste my life anymore, I need to change.

To me, the most memorable thing that Grandmaster said was that before the age of 20, no one had ever praised or given him encouragement. He said that he was also not confident when he was young. I couldn’t believe that. Now, Grandmaster is admired by so many people; I never would have thought that he had have such a past. So now, I don’t need to be afraid of whatever I am experiencing, because it will all be different in the future. I also don’t need to feel sad or anything. I just need to stick to it and work harder. I will succeed in the future.

Kaiheng. I see your message here says you always talk back to your parents, and want to change that. You play too much games and don’t concentrate on studying. Your grades aren’t good because you are too lazy to study. I feel that you are very honest. Then just keep it up. You look sturdy, so you can do some physical labor, such as moving furniture or unloading cargo. Those jobs are good too. But finding a partner will be difficult, because you won’t be able to afford new clothes in the future. So there is that “advantage”. OK. So I suggest keeping your current situation. No need to change.

My first thought was that I admired Grandmaster so much, why did Grandmaster say those things? Grandmaster’s words really hurt me. Thinking over Grandmaster’s words, I felt really useless. Although I have lived for 14 years, I have done nothing meaningful.

If you don’t work hard in your youth, you will have a difficult rest of your life. You will find that you are the most oppressed even when just doing labor jobs.

At first I didn’t understand but now I realize that even though Grandmaster said that I didn’t have to change, I really do need to change. His words were actually giving me a choice, to choose, whether I would keep wasting myself, or change myself.

(Hi Grandmaster, I am Aichang. I am working as a graphic designer.) Graphic designer. (Yes. I have been working for about 8 months.) Only 8 months. (I am very confused and lost at work, I don’t know…) Why are you crying? Is the boss bullying you? (No.) Is it because there is a lack of men in your workplace? (Oh, you got that right, only my boss is male.) The rest are women. (Yes.) Are you crying about this? (No.) Then why are you so emotional? (I don’t know if I’m on the right path.)

I really wanted to ask Grandmaster because I have been confused for so long. I worked without any purpose or goal. Life is really hard and tiring without a goal.

For your question, I can only say, your parents are both alive, right? Yes. If you were an orphan, you would be very grateful for this job. And you would want to do it well. If you were married, and had 3 babies, would you continue this job? (Yes, I would.) You would do it. If your parents had no income, and you needed to support them, will you continue this job? (Yes, I will.) Alright. You have already answered your question. (Thank you, Grandmaster.) Your behavior, let me tell you, my words may hurt you, you are too selfish.

When Grandmaster spoke to me like that, when he asked me, “Do you have any savings? “Do you give your parents an allowance each month? “You are 23 years old, how much have your parents spent on you? Have you ever thought about how to repay them?” Each of Grandmaster’s questions felt like a slap to the face. Wow, I felt ashamed and regretful.

You have to understand that you just started working. It is the best time for you to be learning. How dare you quit your job? Your quitting is different from your father’s retirement. Quitting your job leads to a dead end. Your life is in your hands, yet your current behavior is ruining your life. The slogan I give to this camp is my life is in my hands, No one remembers the counterpart, my life is mine to ruin. Today, after listening to my bullet-like words, you will start to change.

You need to have aspirations. It doesn’t need to be really grand, it can be “I won’t use my father’s money, I will support my parents instead.” It doesn’t matter if you have siblings, “I can support my parents myself.” This way, you will have strength while working. As you are listening to me, you have already started to change, your eyes have become clearer. Later at your job, your creativity will definitely increase a lot. Your future will be remarkable because it arises from a sense of responsibility. It is fortunate that you met me.

Grandmaster’s words helped me to clearly understand what I should and shouldn’t do.

Grandmaster JinBodhi had many conversations with students in the class; he addressed their doubts through vivid stories. His teachings inspired the students, and pointed them in the direction of their future.

The purpose of life is not a game. It is not about “like” or “dislike”; It is about supporting your loved ones, including your parents, to survive and live. That is the most important thing. It is not something optional; you must do it.

I finally have a dream. I am very happy. This is my biggest gain from this. I am 24 years old, and have been living without any goals. So I am very happy that I found my life goal.

Thank you very much, Grandmaster. Your teachings made me realize the importance of my studies; giving me greater chance to succeed in the future and to have a rewarding life.

I had some questions about my life and Grandmaster’s teachings gave us very clear answers. My future path became clearer.

Truth was, I wasn’t very motivated to study. I didn’t have that “desperate urge” to learn. So sometimes, I felt that studying was annoying. At this camp, I found my way, my path in life. It is my dream. My dream will motivate me to study diligently. I study to fulfill my dream.

I want to tell Grandmaster, after listening to your teachings, I think I can change.

At this camp, the youths found their dreams, motivation and their path in life.

After the youth camp, how have they changed?

Grandmaster’s talk with me, as well as his teachings, really inspired me. I will get rid of my gaming obsession, and I will work harder on my studies. Several times, I was doing homework when I got the urge to play games. But I told myself, “Hold on, it is almost done.” I kept working on my homework until I finished it. I felt “Thank goodness I didn’t stop to play.”

Before, he used to do his homework at the last minute. Now, he is much better. Now he will finish his work first and not leave it until the last minute. He used to play first before doing homework.

I feel ashamed. It seems that I have achieved nothing. I am not good at studying. I am not like my sister, who can bring you good grades.

Grades aside, the most important thing is to work hard. He is not an immature kid, he is actually pretty mature, it is a matter of whether he wants to do it or not.

After the youth camp, I started to plan the use of my time. I would make a to-do list for each day. I limit my time on my phone. When I am playing on the phone, I would set a 20 minute limit. Then I will put it down and work on my tasks. I review my lessons, or go work out. I do something more meaningful.

Often times, she would be writing notes. She would jot down her notes or to-do list. I feel that she has become more mature.

This is my add math (Additional Mathematics) and it’s formulas. It is the formulas that I like and learned in the past 2 years. You can’t just write them down. You have to understand them. So I made the effort to understand the formulas while writing them. Then the exams became easier. When I see the questions on the exam, I knew which topic it belonged to. Then I think of which formula to use to solve the problem. So it becomes much easier.

I have found that she spends less time on her phone. Really. I used to nag her about spending too much time on the phone. I told her that she should use the time more meaningfully.

BMYC helps youths by inspiring their inner self; then their mind state and aspiration to learn will come out naturally. We don’t need to nag them every day about what’s right or wrong.

After the camp, it is different. She actually knows what she wants in life. She told me after she came back; she knew what she wanted to be. As the CEO of a company, she has already chosen her future career. She told me that.

I can really relate when Grandmaster says, “If you don’t have a dream, you won’t have motivation.” I didn’t have a dream before I went to the youth camp. But now I have a goal. Now, I am more energetic and motivated.

Now she sleeps earlier, wakes up on her own, and goes to work. She changed her lifestyle. I feel glad, because I cannot teach her. I can’t teach her; Grandmaster can teach her. I think this is the best way. I am very happy about that.

It can help train their self-discipline. This is a thing that we can’t teach at home sometimes.

This camp, parents can volunteer at the youth camp as well. I think this is a good arrangement. Not only do children benefit from the camp, parents do too. Overall, I think this is a family camp. Families learning from Grandmaster’s teachings together. We are very grateful.

Give my thanks and gratitude to Grandmaster for having this youth camp. So that a lot of children can actually learn from this. And for Grandmaster’s precious guidance and advice for her, I feel very indebted. It is all very important, and I very (much) appreciate this.

To create a better future, they have already started to act on their goals. What about you? Are you still lost or confused? Are you still struggling to find your future? You are welcome to join in.
